orca winter expeditions

Far the most popular expedition we offer due the 80-90% likelihood of seeing orcas and/or humpback whales during your trip with Northern Whales Expeditions. We follow the pods in their search for food which is plentiful at this time of the year. Come and join us for an once-in-a-lifetime experience on board of the Lady Kate to swim and snorkel with orcas (killer whales) as well as humpback whales under the northern light surrounded by the most stunning scenery. You do not have to be a diver! Snorkelling with the whales is for everybody. We can teach you snorkelling on-board.

Killer whales (orcas) and humpback whales have been known to follow the herring and mackerel for a great feast in the Norwegian waters. These fish appear annually in huge numbers close to the Norwegian coast attracting predators that feed on them and where there are herring there are orcas, humpback whales, seabirds, dolphins, seals, sea lions and many more. The best time of the year to catch a glimpse of these sea giants is between October through to February.

Have an unforgettable trip on board of the Lady Kate and let us take you to the best whale-watching spots in Norway. Our ship has a capacity to carry 12 passengers and all our cabins are refurbished to offer you a good night sleep after a day full of adventures.  You will be looked after by our professional team of six crew members (including an on-board chef) who are all highly experienced divers, free-divers with lots of orca spotting under their belts. We also have our very own orca expert who will tell you all about these wonderful creatures while you are waiting for our crew to find them.
